Transferring University of St. Thomas Law School

For students considering a transfer to the University of St. Thomas Law School, it’s essential to understand the institution’s policies regarding transfer credits. Applications for transfer are considered from students in good academic standing at other law schools. Up to 30 law credits earned at other ABA-accredited law schools may be applied to the J.D. requirements at the University of St. Thomas Law School, provided the student earned a grade of “C” or better in the course.

Notably, credits earned under a Pass/Fail grading system at another law school will not transfer. While the institution may consider accepting more than 30 credits in exceptional circumstances, the maximum transferable credits allowed cannot exceed 45.
