The admission process at Chicago-Kent Law is highly competitive, with numerous applicants vying for limited seats in the entering class. Additionally, transfer students may apply for admission as full- or part-time J.D. students, and they have the opportunity to pursue certificate programs in litigation and alternative dispute resolution (LADR) and criminal litigation, provided space is available.

The evaluation of transfer candidates for admission is based on their law school performance, with particular emphasis on first-year performance.
